Shanghai-based computer peripheral maker Evergreen has released a new potential addition to your mobile arsenal called the Fingertip Mini Mini USB Trackball. Despite its diminutive square shape the unit supports all normal mouse functions including click, scroll and cursor mode, but is only available for Windows XP and Vista systems. You can pick up your own tiny, black brick of interface goodness for just 1,999 yen ($20.48) here.

I wonder why this is only Windows compatible... a mouse is a mouse, is a mouse, in terms of digital signal, no? This is a physically different mouse, but why would it be any different, in terms of signal?
Maybe make it slightly more ergonomic, rather than blocky, and make it bluetooth wireless and rechargeable, and it might make a nice little presentation device... but maybe another product already does that better.

Only available in Japan...
"We are shipping only to Japan. We do not ship outside Japan due to possible problems with tariffs and duties in other countries."

Too bad they don't ship overseas. This item looks pretty cool to have around.
I think I could get my hands on this with a deputy service but I don't think it's worth the extra I'll have to pay.

Is the DRIVER that makes it compatible with a given OS.
So there is drivers for Windows, but not Mac X or Linux, hence it's availability for XP and Vista.
