The Nintendo Wii has been beating the pants off the Microsoft Xbox 360 and Sony Playstation 3 ever since it was released almost three years ago, so it's surprising that it took this long for one of those other consoles to rip off its defining feature: the Wiimote. But finally, the Xbox 360 and PS3 iare getting their very own motion-sensitive controller-stick-thing.
The Gamtrak Freedom looks a whole lot like the Nintendo Wiimote, but I'm not sure what exactly it'll do without games designed specifically for it. Without a Wii Sports to make everybody want to play it, who's going to use this thing? Perhaps people with Xboxes who really wish they had Wiis, but that's about it. But hey, time will tell.

Presumably, now that the controller exists, companies will make games for it. I'd love to play next year's Tiger Woods for PS3 with it.

Add on adoption for programming has never been very good, unless it comes with a popular game so that a large population gets it. I'm not convinced that this will ever go anywhere unless Sony specifically pushes it by offering it as a package, which seems unlikely since it is third party.

*facepalm*
How many more TVs and lamps do these companies want broken by idiots flailing all over the place?

One of the most stupid articles I have ever seen.
WHere do I even start?
# 1. No one is "ripping off" anyone. Nintendo themselves licesnsed the "Wiimote" from an American company based in Texas called Gyration Inc. Gyration Inc still own all their patents.
# 2. Gamtrak have been making motion sensing controllers long before Nintendo even heard of it.
# 3. The Gametrack motion controller is is not for existng 360 users as such. It's going to be to be used as a weapon to to help the 360 prise away those who would have bought the Wii, but now want far better graphics, and a much better motion controller than the Wii has.
# 4. Gamtrak Freedom comes with it's own set of pretty good games that use the motion controller already.
# 5. By the time it's luanched at the end of the year, it's going to be supported by 3rd party games that will makwe use of the motion controller. Golf and tennis games come to mind.
Who the heck wrote this article anyways? a 10 year old?

Third Party Support for something that isn't built into a console has historically been a death sentance. How many games use the PS2 HDD? Howmany used the Genesis, and SNES four player taps?
Heck how many used the TG-16 five player tap? So...I will hold jugement until I see the thing.
Course I have my 360 for Gaming, my Wii for Parties, and my PS3 to watch Blu-Rays.

Is this for real? I've never heard of Gametrak, and I have to say the remote looks like a quickie photoshop job. I heard this rumor many times before, and am QUITE skeptical at this point. Whats the release date? Whats the retail price? Who wrote this article without adding ANY pertinent information? Again, sounds like BS to me.
