First there was smell-o-vision. Now we have the Emo Jacket with feel-o-vision. The folks at Philips Electronics are bringing out a jacket that lets you really feel what's going on in a movie. Using similar coding technology to D-box Motion Code chairs, the jacket will react to signals encoded on a DVD or Blu-ray.
The jacket, still in the developmental stage, has 64 actuators across the arms and body. The sensations will be subtle — it will create tension in the arms, or vibrate to simulate a heartbeat, or tap you on the shoulder. Don't worry — if someone onscreen gets punched in the gut, the jacket won't nail you in the belly. If I'm in charge, the next generation will have temperature controls too. Although that might be a problem with my Mt. Everest obsession.
Unfortunately, it will only run for an hour on two AA batteries. Better keep a few spares around. Especially if they come out with matching pants.

I like the overall style of the jacket, reminds me of my North Face Apex Pneumatic jacket but thinner.

That sounds awesome but instead of spending money on batteries for a jacket that only last an hour why cant they make it solar powered last longer and prolly better for the enviroment.
