I had to completely rewrite this post. It first came out as a bunch of rambling nonsense equating to: "Whoa! Dude! Hover car! Look! WHOA!" Really, though, I guess that's all that needs to be said here. The Audi Shark is undeniably stunning.
It's the work of Kazim Doku, who redesigned Audi's usual sleek stylings into a flying sportscar for the Desire Design Competition by the Italian Domus Academy. The Shark seats two sitting side-by-side, and it would look at home on any science fiction set. Just check out the images down below and try to disagree.

I boldly disagree, with that console between your legs.. this designer certainly has never been hit in the balls.. cause that would be a top concern of during any type of front end collision.

It probably has airbags :P

Whoa! That cabin is claustrophobic! And the seats, with a between-the-legs console?! Getting in and out of that sucker is going to be hard, not to mention painful. Anyone older than thirty-five is going to have problems ... our bodies just don't fold that easily anymore.

Wow! While some people just are not capable of being positive i on the other hand am just stunned at this concept. I would be proud to have one in my drivway

It kinda reminds me of the Stinger from Seaquest DSV, which is awesome. Make this sucker air tight with some sort of life support system and you could go from land to sea.

@ Gunny: Then maybe you ought to engage in a workout now and then. I'm 45 and am just as flexible as I ever was. Just because you're out of shape don't assume everyone is.
I think the design is interesting. It's obviously a design-for-design's-sake kind of exercise and as such the Shark gets high marks. Just like much haute couture it's never intended to hit the streets but it inspires.

This design is inspiring, and will probably influence carmakers into building something like this in the not-too-distant future.
Cars that hover will probably be popular in the 2040's or later. However, unless hover research hits a breakthrough, it will use some type of high powered fans or compressed air.

I love this car it the autimate in driving experienced. it would be great if it would go from land to sea as in the comment by fullofshih.
I'd buy one now if the cost would be in line with say a durango.
