SanDisk rolls out faster, prettier ImageMate card readers

ImageMate-Readers.pngSanDisk rolled out a couple of attractive card readers today, and the company says they're blazing fast. We're skeptical of the claim of 30MB/s (that's megabytes per second!) reading, and writing at 27MB/s, but even if those numbers are exaggerated, these two readers will do their work faster than ever and look scary-cool in the process.

They're offered in two versions, the $30 All-in-One that supports every memory card available, and the $20 Multi-Card that handles xD, Memory Stick, SD, SDHC, and MMC. If they really do read and write that fast, you'll need one of the newer UDMA flash memory cards to take advantage of that speed.

These look great, but the fastest card reader we've seen is our $36 Lexar UDMA reader, transferring gigs of pics with astonishing speed, especially when using a SanDisk Extreme Ducati Edition compact flash card. If these beauties can hold a candle to that Lexar, we're sold.
