Coffee mug with digital photo frame inside is such a bad idea

digi-mug.jpgThis is the kind of world we live in, folks. The kind of world that would allow a monstrosity like this Digital Frame Mug to come into existence. Yes, it's an insulated travel mug that, for some unknown reason, has a tiny digital photo frame built right in.

Not only is this product completely asinine, but it seems dangerous. What happens when you want to wash your mug? Electronics and water don't mix. And are you really going to plug your coffee mug into your computer to update the photos? This is a failure on all counts.

first, it's not "dangerous", it's just stupid. I really doubt that it has the potential of hurting anybody physically but I assume that it's protected. Afterall, water and paper don't mix well either and there have been travel mugs that you can put paper photos in for ages and you can wash them without having to take them apart.

If you look at the pics given through the Urban Trend link, the digital photo frame isn't embedded. It sticks way out from the main mug. And my guess is that the digital frame will pop out completely for washing the mug and/or updating photos.

But, yeah, still stupid.

yeah, I'm sure it does pop out but, even if it didn't, it wouldn't exactly surprise me. They have cups that light up, blink, make sounds and you don't have to pop anything out. Obviously, this is a little more intricate than that but it's still possible to water and heat protect simple electronics.

I love my family, but I'd rather not be constantly reminded of them at every waking hour. What's next? Digital frames on the rearview mirror of cars? Sometimes I just want to forget that I'm related to my family. lol
