YouTube comes to the Wii and Playstation 3

youtubexz.pngYouTube is sick of being stuck on the computer. It wants an upgrade to your TV, and it knows the best way to get that is through video games. That's why YouTube is coming shortly to the Sony Playstation 3 and the Nintendo Wii. There's no love for the Xbox 360, sadly, but it may not be far off.

For PS3 and Wii owners, they merely have to point their console's browser to www.youtube.com/tv to get a specially-formatted version of the site for your TV. You'll then be able to surf through all the user-generated videos you want from the comfort of your couch. Now let's get this to the Xbox!

They were working on getting it for the 360, but all the devs had Red Rings of Death, so it will be at least another 3 to 5 weeks ....

You always could do youtube on the ps3, that was one of the first things I did when I got mine ages ago (the original 60gig model). Its the only flash video site that worked, but it worked none the less...

Having YouTube is nice, it uses Flash 7 so technically it was already working on the wii, but the addition of Hulu would be sweet. Adobe needs to put Flash 9 on something other than Windows and Mac.

YouTube has been on the PS3 since launch. Sony has their own station and everything...

I've run into videos that say they are restricted for TV play. It'd be really nice to know why YouTube restricts these videos.

For instance, none of these Red vs Blue episodes will play on http://www.youtube.com/tv
