Richard Vandersteen is normally a meat and potatoes kind of guy, who makes some of the best value speakers out there. But for the launch of his new flagship $45,000 Model Seven, he decided to pull out all the stops. Using a vinyl-based system built around the $150,000 Clearaudio Statement turntable, the sound left several unnamed high-end audio critics with their jaws firmly the floor.

You could spend $300k on the best turntable/speaker/amp setup on the planet, but then you're going to have to pay someone to build a wall between you and it so you don't have to look at the monstrosity.
That turntable is ugly as sin.

I think it looks kind of cool.
Kind of Art Deco/Streamline Moderne/Wizard of Oz looking.
Like a magical dream back in time.
My budget for music equipment is just a teensy bit smaller than $300,000 though. What am I saying, my budget for a house is less than $300,000 :-)
