Steampunk Cylon: Our first (disqualified) entry
DVICE's Steampunk Cylon contest is in full swing — thanks to everybody who's contributed so far! Even though the contest is open only to residents of the U.S., anyone can send us a Steampunk Cylon design; you can't win the contest, but you can still get featured on DVICE.
Such is the case with the above design, sent in by a our friend Nicolas in Belgium. It's a bit too R2D2 in spots, but the detail work on those arms is pretty amazing. The treads definitely place it more in League of Extraordinary Gentlemen Steampunk (as opposed to Wild Wild West Steampunk), but cool stuff nonetheless.

I have to say, it's somewhere between R2D2 and a Dalek. That would be a challenging chimera.
