One look at Sony's P Series "lifestyle PC" and you'll want to slip it in your jacket pocket and take it home. The 1.41 lb. Vista-running bauble connects with the world anywhere you can access a Verizon 3G cell phone signal, and also is Wi-Fi friendly with quick wireless N.
Its keyboard felt just big enough and 8-inch screen looked bright and sharp, but we didn't like that awkward joystick Sony wedged in instead of a touchpad. Pre-order one online tomorrow for $900, or look for it in retail stores later this month in stylish green, red, black or white.

Most of the IBM/Lenovo Thinkpad users would disagree with your statement regarding the trackpoint (what you called the awkward joystick). Give it may be an hour and you won't trade it with a touchpad, especially when you are 10-finger-typing and you don't have to take your hands away from the keyboard.

I'm a touch screen junkie myself and wouldn't use a pad or stick if I had my choice, but I've spent time with both. Claiming the point is superior to the pad is like saying a console's thumbstick can compete with a mouse, it's just not true. There's a reason lenovo has added a pad to most of it's thinkpad line.

I hope they offer the same guts and display with a larger keyboard. Even if that bumps it up by 0.1 or 0.2 pounds, it would be great. Things like the EEE PC (83% keyboard) are just too small for most to type on, and the HP Mini-Note has too short a battery life (and the bigger battery bulks it up quite a lot).
