Sony flaunts its exceptional technology prowess with its organic LED (OLED) TVs in an impressive tech demo. The biggest is 27 inches, the smaller is 21 inches. Both are less than 10 millimeters (or 0.4 inch) thick, with the 21-incher displaying a 1,366 x 768-pixel resolution, while the larger 27-inch TV shows a "full HD" 1,920 x 1,080 picture.
And oh, yeah — both of them display the sharpest, cleanest, most colorful images we've ever seen anywhere. The future looks bright… sharp and colorful, too.

I too have seen Sony's OLED close up. It is simply the finest image I have ever seen - bar none.
The blacks are zero emission, the whites can be brighter than the sun, the colors are pure and saturated, and there is everything in between - from pastel nuance to 100% contrast from pixel to pixel.

I've been searching for a digital monitor to use in a dark room that allow very low brightness levels, and most LCD's can't dimm to low (giving uncomfortable computing experience at night).
So if OLED's can't ofer log life at it's full brightness, why can't they simply limit the brigtness to say 100cd/m?
