Sega Homestar Globe puts the night sky on your desk

homestar_globe.jpg

Sega Toys makes projectors that can turn the ceiling of your room into a planetarium. That's awesome, but some rooms just can't do it; either they're too small of let in too much sunlight. That's when you want the Homestar Globe. Not at all affiliated with Homestar Runner, the desktop globe has an eyepiece for you to peep inside to see all sorts of cool constellations and planets.

Designed by Takayuki Oohira, the Homestar Globe is planned for a June release. No word on price yet, though Sega's planetarium projectors cost in the neighborhood of $200. Since this guy doesn't need the projection hardware, we're hoping it's a little less.
