The creepily accurate technology that is facial recognition is coming to the world of handheld cameras courtesy of the new Lumix FX40 from Panasonic. The compact digital camera will register the initial facial data of a subject and then allow you to tag that data with a specific name and age of the person.
The company says this is a first for such a compact camera and claims that the only thing able to foil the facial recognition tech is either bad lighting, or a family member with remarkably similar features. The camera is set to hit the stores in March for 40,000-47,000 yen ($450-$530) here.
