New look for Altec Lansing

FX3022-FRONT_PERSPECT_362.jpgAltec Lansing is trying to do an extreme makeover. They've taken a new approach to their design, trying to distinguish themselves from the boring array of computer speakers. They were showing off their award-winning Expressionist Bass computer speakers at CES. They certainly look a bit unusual. A bit boxy for my taste, but they have a sort of industrial look that might fit your decor.

The stereo pair of computer speakers are different in that they don't require a separate subwoofer cabinet. Each "tower" contains a 4-inch down-firing sub. Most of the internal space in the cabinet goes to the subwoofer enclosure. The full-range drivers are 1.5-inches. The aux input lets you use your computer, or MP3 or any other audio device. The speakers come in black or white, and will retail for $129.95.
