MediaFLO, aka FLO TV, the subscription-based broadcast service heretofore limited to cellphones, is making its way to the car. Sometime this year, Audiovox will start selling a black box that connects to a car's A/V system to bring live TV to back seat and overhead video screens.
Neither company is sure of either equipment or subscription pricing, though. But this means FLO TV soon could be included in other video devices.
MediaFLO and FLO TV fans in the San Francisco bay area, Boston, Miami and Houston can't be happy with the proposed delay in the analog TV turnoff, however. The service is scheduled to go live in those cities Feb. 18 when MediaFLO (supposedly) gets access to the local abandoned analog TV spectrum. Stay tuned. Literally.
