Lite-On Skyla picture frame has its own scanner

liteonskyla_4.jpg

We've seen digital photo frames that print, but scanning is a new trick. The Skyla takes any 4x6 photo, scans it in via a slot on the bottom rim, and adds it to the internal 512MB of memory in about 10 seconds.

Like most digital frames, this one also plays MP3s and video files. It looks like a pretty good gadget for grannies and folks who don't wanna bother with scanning old photos on a computer. The interface is typical, and don't be fooled by the lit-up touch controls on the side. They're just for show and simply indicate the presence of physical buttons. Price is around $200 and will be available later this month.
