We've seen some thin LCD HDTV prototypes, but this soon-to-ship LG LH9500 is getting ridiculous. Not only is the 55-inch LED-backlit beauty just 24.8mm thin — plug in a USB hard drive and it can play back pirate-fave DiVx video files in all their HD glory.

A TV this improbably thin needs an outboard box to make it go, and this one can stream HD wirelessly. Neat trick. And whoa, does this look sexy or what? Pricing? No word yet. We'll get a close-up look at it at CES 2009, coming up mid-week.
