Lenovo IdeaCentre touted as world's slimmest all-in-one PC
Look out Apple, Dell, Sony, and Gateway — there's a newer, prettier all-in-one PC about to hit the streets. Laptop ace Lenovo's busting out its IdeaCentre A600 at CES 2009, crowing about how it's the thinnest all-in-one PC.
Its 21.5-inch 16:9 screen (at 1920 x 1080) is ready for some 1080p HDTV watching, too, and it comes with a digital TV tuner controlled by a Media Center remote. Pricing starts at $999, but you'll probably want to load it up with 4GB of RAM, a terabyte of storage and Blu-ray.
We've never been crazy about all-in-one PCs, but this one's starting to change our minds. We like its swept-back looks, frameless bezel and versatility. If its fan is quiet and its Core 2 Duo/ATI Radeon performance is up to snuff, we're tempted.

Wow.
Everything the iMac should have the option to be, yet isn't.
Too bad this thing runs windows, and Linux isn't more mainstream.
OSX is really what a device like this deserves, and Mac has ever-so-slightly missed that mark with the iMac not having the BluRay or TV tuner functionality. (although third party TV tuners do exist for Mac, BluRay playback is more dicey, even with a third party drive.)
I guess we'll see what Apple is ready to offer tomorrow, at the MacWorld Keynote...
But honestly, for a media PC, I would rather NOT have a built in screen, and drive an external, larger HD monitor. So MacMini is probably going to get my attention tomorrow, rather than iMac, anyway.
I will hand it to Lenovo, it is a sharp looking machine. I just hope that "thinnest" doesn't mean most delicate, or most hot-running, or noisiest.

Think this one is slimmer still? IQ504 came out about 6 months ago.
