Is hard disk space getting cheap, or what? This minimalist LaCie Hard Disk MAX USB drive can hold 2 terabytes of your favorite files, combining a couple of 1TB drives in a RAID configuration that gives you either formidably fast response with 2TB (RAID 0) or reassuringly redundant security with 1TB (RAID 1). Either way, this shiny, piano-black, under-lit monolith will set you back just $270.

Now, if they offer it in multi-format, with USB, Firewire800 (or 1600-3200), and e-Sata, then I know what external drive I'll be hooking up to a home theater PC when I get one.
That is slick, and very good looking, and attractively priced for 2TB.
But USB uses too many system resources to be a truly ideal external solution for that much storage. Firewire or e-Sata are less dependent on sending data through the main processor, and have much higher sustained transfer speeds.
Even an ethernet interface for Network Attached Storage would be good.
Lacie usually makes variants of their products, so here's hoping for more than USB 2.0.
