While the West is just finding its way around to hopping into the new generation of eco-friendly compact cars, Japan has started taking the new category into more creative directions. The latest green car-as-design-experiment comes in the form of the new T10 from Takeoka Jidosha Kogei Ltd., recently shown off at the International Automotive Electronics Technology Expo in Japan.
The egg-like, one-seat electric car has only one door on its right side, and can be charged via100volt or 200volt power sources. Scheduled for release this year, pricing has not been announced but expectations are that the vehicle will sell in the $10,000-$15,000 range.

I'm waiting for the day of the small, less-environmentally-unfriendly, inexpensive car. This one's small and much better for the planet, but it's going to be darn expensive.
Of course, all I ever wanted was a Messerschmitt bubble car . . .

This won't be eco-friendly at all....everyone conveniently forgets that these electric cars need recharged, and that the majority of electrical power is produced by burning fossil fuel.
Also, what are we going to do with the batteries when they need replaced? And what kind of enviro-hazard will we see when one of these cars is involved in a crash? Most of the chemicals in any battery are toxic, and some are carcinogenic.
Somehow I don't think this whole 'electric' thing has been thought through.

electric companies will throw their hands up in praises. why ? Their electricity will be used at night !!! and thats when we all use less electricity. ALSO the grid can handle a 10-20 million cars on it without any huge modifications. ALSO with 10-20 million Electric cars will easily save 1-2 million gallons a day. ALSO that in turn decreases green house gas emission, oil consumption,etc... batteries are 99% recyclable !!! The lead the sulphuric acid even the plastic case is RECYCLABLE !!!
EVERY SINGLE FLUID that goes into GAS CARS are hazardous EXCLUDING the wiper fluids. ANTIFREEZE, OIL, SPARK PLUGS, TRANSMISSION FLUIDS, ETC... you get the picture ?
wake up people. electric cars can be recharged during day on solar panels and "helped" along with being charged.
