DeceptaToon: Mickey Mouse Transformer debuts in Japan

mickbot98723.jpgDepending on your nostalgic obsession (Disney fan boy, or Transformers geek), the new Mickey Mouse Transformer is either genius or the further erosion of a beloved robot franchise. This seemingly unholy alliance was on display at this week's Tokyo Toy Forum 2009.

Despite the cheese factor, the robo-Mickey actually folds up into a vehicle just like normal Transformers with a tiny Mickey Mouse peeking out at you from behind the steering wheel. The squeaky voiced, button-nosed, outerspace engine of destruction goes on sale in February for just 3,610 yen ($38.57) here.

OptiMouse Prime is a better name than DeceptaToon. Just saying.

Robo-stylistically, it looks like something Gyro Gearloose might have built during "Ducktales." And erosion it may be, but unlike Hasbro's "Optimash Prime" (a Mr. Potato Head variant), it at least transforms. And the photos on www.1999.co.jp show it to be quite an interesting transformation, albeit with a lot of trailer-kibble (the IT Media photos have been posed and cropped to obscure this), but to do so it uses the cheat of duplicating features (windscreen/chest, bumper/hips) that need to change proportions (as seen in the MP Optimus Prime and ANI Bumblebee toys).

Guys, lets meet Optimus Mice XD. I wonder how it sounds like when mickey shouts the famous line from transformer "autobots transform and roll out!!"

Absolutely want!

Agreed on Optimouse Prime. E.g.: http://www.mintred.com/images/optimouse-prime.jpg

If they could make a daffy duck version of megatron then that would be killer. Literally

FAKE!!!!

This is a total photoshop job. You can tell its a fake because the shadows are all wrong.

This is just like the beginning of that movie Never Back Down where Baja shows off her Disney robot costume to Max before trick or treating, but because Baja wasn't wearing a bra Max got horny & dumped bacon flavored ice cream all over her chest. They proceeded into a steamy sex scene not bothered by the fact the window was open & there were kids dressed up as monsters outside.

Lols. FAke or not, it's still creative.
