If you have the dangerous habit of drinking a lot and then getting behind the wheel, this keychain breathalyzer with a built-in flashlight was designed with you in mind. It lets you figure out just how drunk you are when you're getting in your car, letting you slip by just under the limit. It also has a flashlight on it, allowing you to find those pretzels in the backseat while you're speeding down the highway.
And for $5.99, I'm not sure how much I trust the thing to work properly anyhow. Well, I mean, the flashlight probably works, but I've never heard of a breathalyzer for that cheap.

Nice. We reviewed something very similar to this over on CrunchGear last March. Ours was $4.43 and only went up to 0.05 BAC, which doesn't do much since the limit's 0.08 to 0.10 in most states.
The lack of usefulness was more than made up for by a built-in flashlight AND a stopwatch function, both good for an emergency midnight footrace between two drunken sprinters.

Terrible... I got one of these from Bed bath as a funny christmas gift, well... it doesn't work. The flashlight isnt bright.. the timer is useless, and functions better than the actual breathalyzer. When you finally get it to test, it doesnt actually give a digital output (actually thought the timer was going to be a digital read out.. would have been way better), it just lights up the yellow light, then the red. If you are in the red, it lights up the yellow and red button. Seriously could have just used a boolean function to turn one or the other off.. poorly made and it was 15 bucks!

If a $5.00 breathalyzer actually worked why would Law Enforcement pay over $500.00 for their units. If you want a reliable breathalyzer get one that uses the same technology as Law Enforcement. See www.lifeguardbreathtester.com for the full scoop.
