Aeolus airship is like the Flinstones car of zeppelins

Aeolus-Christopher-Ottersbach.jpg
We're back from a week of non-stop gadget craziness with this purty flight of fancy: the Aeolus airship by designer Christopher Ottersbach. It's billed by the artist as an entirely eco-friendly way to fly, which, really, is one of the big draws of airships and zeppelins (the downside being that they pop or blow up). It borrows a bit from air balloons, and it's designed to be a 2-4 person vehicle that travels for two weeks or so when it's full of helium. There's a catch though, it's "motorized" by the crew — I guess that means you better get pedaling.

Check out the gallery below for more of the Aeolus.

"Aeolus airship is like the Flinstones car of zeppelins"

I believe you must have meant "Flintstones."

the "pop or blow up" kinda puts a damper on things.

seems like a lot of available space for some solar panels (flexible - incorporated into structure).
solar-electric is 2-10x more efficient than burger-pedaling; might be a more pleasant trip as well without all the huffing and puffing.

I love this airship, and best of luck. I was a flight crew member for sanyo, and metlife.Of course now is my off season, i would be interested in becoming a member of your ship. I have 1 year in the business, and look foward to continuing to do so,further more continuing college or becoming a pilot. 614-268-6582

If this thing is real, cruising at 30ft above the ground across the australian / african continent, setting down where you want, camping out then continuing on your way or just cruisin at 12 mph in safety, takin in the scenery and enjoying the freedom, thats how to travel. I hope this is so real, I am up for this

I hope this is real, cruising at 12mph across a great continent 30ft above the ground in safety is the only way to travel and no exhaust gases, got to be the way forward...
