No, you're not hallucinating. These faucets are modeled after wine bottles, delivering your water from a familiar form factor that looks like Italian techno-plumbing purveyor iB Rubinetterie ran through the Disney cartoon factory.
The Batlo faucet by designer Giulio Iacchetti uses its bottle-shaped top as a joystick, while his accompanying Drop showerhead reminds us of a water balloon we encountered last summer. Call us crazy, but we like these a lot. But then, we likes us some weird faucets.

What's with these "designers" changing useful things into useless crap in the name of "art"? It's very arty to jack up the price, eh?
It's probably just a concept anyway, as is most of the cool stuff on here...it's a bummer when you see a picture of something, read a description, and then find out it doesn't actualy exist. These particular things I don't care for either way...

Do some research before commenting... As a bathroom product designer myself I have to read so much thoughtless comment about my products. This design is apparently based on a bottle shape and has a nice joystick type control. The coloured version has a 'soft' feel, quite innovative. They do it in chrome if you don't like the colours. See, I did my research.

so what do these do

I would love to see a couple other innovations in shower heads. How about one that you touch to turn off the flow after setting the temp, but is ready at a touch to resume? This would be helpful for shaving or soaping up the kids without wasting water. I personally have a turn-off valve, but if it were built into the shower head assembly, I think more people would use it, saving a lot of water and energy.

I've also wondered, is there a simple device to maybe collect the water until it reaches the desired temp to avoid scalding or freezing?
Another neat innovation would be to integrate the warm waste water in a shower with the cold intake so you recover some of the waste heat.
-How about making a small water filter/recycler that allows you to wash first, then flip on the recycler, which lets you luxuriate in a long shower using...the same water (post- dumping the soapy stuff, of course)??
