Got baby? Then you may have occasionally encountered the problem of what to do with your kid when you're out in public and you're the one that needs to go potty. The makers of the BabyKeeper have a solution: hang your toddler on the wall. The BabyKeeper is a carrier seat that unfolds to become a harness that you can hang on a bathroom stall. The two straps have large metal hooks within them, covered with non-slip safety webbing.
The 'Keeper is made for babies 6 to 18 months old and can do double duty as a shopping-cart restraint as well. For $40, it seems like a very practical idea with just one downside: It looks ridiculous.

Why does this not surprise me. First the baby back pack or whatever those "hands free" things are called for carrying your inconvenience, I mean child, and now you hang your kid on a door or wall. Why the hell would you want to hold you child now a days, you know, with all the texting and talking with a blue tooth in each ear while your driving your $75K SUV down the road like an asshat, there's no time for the trivial things in your life like your child. Can you sense my sarcasm? I really hope so. Have we really gotten this lazy(redundant question). The stupid ass that invented this needs a swift kick in the junk, this is just retarded.

I don't really think it's such a stupid idea. I'm using a baby carrier quite often, and with these things it really is virtually impossible to go to the loo while on the way... you don't want you baby, that touches/licks everything to go crawling around on the floor of a public restroom, now would you?

I agree with the last post. I hold my little guy all the time. But if you have to go... you have to go. I actually have to avoid certain stores when shoping with my son. If you can't take the cart in with you and the store doesn't offer a seat for your little one and you don't want them crwling around on the nasty floor what are you to do?
I think it is a great option.

Okay, this is brilliant. I have two kids and I can't express how frustrating it is to be a bathroom stall with a 4 year old and a newborn and have to go to the bathroom. This has Nothing to do with laziness, it about practicality. It's hard enough to decide where to set your purse and keys in a stall, let alone a wiggly infant who can't stand.
It's not like they're recommending you hang your baby up on the stall to watch a movie or eat dinner - it's specifically for bathroom stalls.
Brilliant!

Random Hero - clearly you have not tried to carry an infant, lead a small child, while also carrying a purse and a diaper bag. Not to mention an umbrella if it's raining, whatever you're shopping for and whatever else there always is to carry if you're a parent.
I drive a Honda Accord and have two children and would love to have more hands. That's the point of hands free, not a blackberry or a cell phone.

Honestly this is brilliant ... I mean if you take a stroller everywhere you go then yes this is kind of pointless ... but then you're not holding your kid then either ... and the packs that look like hiking/camping that can stand on their own weigh a TON! For someone with back problems like me this is a great invention! You can carry your kid and make sure they don't germs from those filthy floors.
Pure brilliance!

Pas si mal! Je crois, en tant que mère de trois jeunes enfants, que cet article est super pratique, mais je crois que ca vous attirera sûrement les regards désaprobateurs des autres qui trouveront épouvantable de vous voir `suspendre`votre bébé!!!
