Minute Glass clock radio, powered by shaking it like a martini

green_alarm.jpg

Clock radios don't get any greener than this. Minute Glass is a clock radio powered by magnetic induction so there's no need for batteries or electricity at all. It wakes you up in the morning with music, and its alarm won't turn off until you've shaken it enough to power it for another day. That ought to be enough movement to wake up even the most hungover sleepers.

Colin Roberts, the creator of this design concept, aims to please, also making the Minute Glass function as a bedside LED flashlight. That might come in handy as we enter a strange era where electricity might not be as dependable as it's been in times of plenty. Great idea, and one that might be useful for other electronics as well.
