Make music with your doodles via a magic pencil

drawdio.jpgDon't know how to play a musical instrument? Join the club. But I'll bet you know how to write with a pencil, a skill much easier to acquire than learning how to play the guitar. And the Dradio Music Pencil lets you make music by simply writing with a pencil, lowering the barrier of entry to music infinitely.

It works by strapping an analog synthesizer circuit to a soft-leaded pencil, creating electronic sounds out of the conductive properties of the graphite in the pencil. As you draw, your doodlings and scrawlings get converted to electronic sounds. It might not create the next big pop hit for you, but you'll need to actually learn music for that. Hit a jump for a video of this magic pencil in action.

Sounds like it would get annoying fast. If not to you, then to others around you. When you said music I hadn't expected it sound like that.

Looks like a LOT of fun, so many possibilities.
I think I'd always be drawing robot whales though.

With a little bit of work, I think this could be great as a therapeutic tool for kids. Especially with the interacting possibilities it provides. But they should really try to find a less annoying sound.
