Incredibly detailed high-tech R/C race cars debut in U.S.

detailed_rccars.jpg

The most detailed and sophisticated R/C car system in the world is about to make its U.S. debut. Kyosho's dNaNo radio-controlled 1:43 scale race cars are exquisitely detailed, and they're packed with high-tech gyros, 2.4GHz radios, and precision-crafted bodies, each controlled by sophisticated USB-connected devices that let you post your lap times on the web:

"By registering the car and entering the special circuit, the dedicated ID assigned to the IC tag on each car during production links to the circuit and starts measuring lap times. While displaying your data on the circuit display, all circuits are networked to the dNaNo Server, which automatically gets updated with your lap times."

If you can find other enthusiasts with the $239+ to buy one of these 4-inch cars (and then pay another $156 for the 2.4GHz controller/radio starter pack), you could have a spectacular free-driving race, as you can see in the video after the Continue jump. Fantastic.

Looks like another great toy for both kids and their dads. We want.
