Landline phones may be going the way of the dodo, what with everyone owning cellphones, but that's not going to stop the fine folks at Bang & Olufsen from releasing a ridiculous impractical cordless telephone.
Yes, the BeoCom2 Phone is an insane phone that I can't imagine anyone ever buying. It's tall, strange looking and has its own base station. It'll work with any old landline but, since its not a cellphone, can't do much else. It's only out in Korea at the moment, but I'm sure eventually it'll arrive in the States with an offensively-high pricetag.

Personally, i think your info is a little off. I've seen this phone in my local Bang & Olufsen for the past 4 years. Old old old news. And back when it came out, it wasn't such an odd thing to still be buying landlines.
Get your facts straight guys.

One could also connect it to one's VOIP box which is then connected to the router.

Agreed with Barnops, this phone is very old! They do look odd, but are great phones!
C'mon you guys, this isn't new!

I've seen these for sale at the Bang & Olufson store at the local mall here in Arizona. Yes, they are insanely expensive... for whatever reason.

Just an fyi -- the BeoCom 2 has been available in all North American Bang & Olufsen showrooms for several years now. The MSRP is $1100.

B&O probably make the best landline pohones in the world, this is a classic example of the modern world, quantity over quality... check out BeoCom 4 or BeoCOm 6000 if you want another design. Feel free to keep your cellphone sound (if you have the money, B&O also make a cellphone called Serenata).
