Video: Can a yellow blob clean a keyboard better than Windex?

That white Apple keyboard is beautiful… when it's brand new. Before long, dust, bits of food, and tiny hairs find their way between the keys, not to mention the drops off coffee that stain the keys themselves. Is anything up to the task of cleaning this thing?

The folks behind Cyber Clean think so. In fact, they think the answer is a small yellow blob. Simply, Cyber Clean is the gooey mess that cleans up other gooey messes, with one catch — it's only available outside the U.S. Why? The apparent answer is in the video up top.

If it really makes that noise, I would buy it in a second!

Did these geniuses ever hear of canned air? It's a can of compressed air that you spray into your keyboard and it blows away ALL the deep-down dirt. As far as the phone, RUBBING ALCOHOL works real well and sterilizes at the same time. That cyber clean looks like the Blob toy I used to play with as a kid. I gues they decided they got stuck with a bunch of it and decided to re-market it with a new ammonia smell. Doubt I'll buy it unless there's guns involved.

Definitely looks like Floam without the styrofoam beads in it. I wonder how much it costs? You can make it at home with borax and school glue for about 25 cents. Think I'll stick to canned air and alcohol wipes for my stuff.

Well, I can say that the product works perfectly well and if you are nmot able to press it down properly into your keyboard, you should try again.
And teh comment to blw teh dirt away with canned air, well, you haev all the germs and dirt flying around you...bon appetit.
I am very happy with cyber clean and I am sure it will be available in the US soon.

can't understand your "verdict". using this since quite a long time and you should know that canned air ain't killing and blowin away all germs and that concerns me the most. cyber clean has disinfectants and kills them all so I love it! also if you read on their homepage it says that it's not to clean fat/fingerprints etc. but only small particles in cavities! I suggest you get informed in a better way and try again ;-)

This Product is fantastic!I love it. It has a practical everyday use and everyone in the US will have this in their hands within 2008. I am sure of it.

Who would use windex on their keyboard? That is not a practical way to clean your pc and it is quite dangerous and can have terrible consequences. Would you spray windex between the keys of your keyboard? How would you wipe between the keys? I think this product is amazing and a brilliant idea. I would buy it and use it all of the time. Hey, you even show it working really well!

Watched the review of this product, and I would not purchase it..I devised an alternate to prevent dirt and debris from affecting the performance of my laptop..here is my suggestion... cut a peice of plastic wrap sufficient to cover the keyboard and around the edges of both sides of the keyboard..it keeps my keys clean from finger smudges, dirt and small particles from settling between the keys.. I prefer my idea better..and it has the potential to be a marketable product..
let me know what u think???
thanks

Bought this product in the uk and thought it worked really well. it cleaned up my keyboard and got in all the gaps, made it look like new also great for fan and air vents on your computer where cannned air would just blow the dust inside you machine. This DUDE says it left his keyboard sticky i have not noticed this just left it clean and germ free.

I love Cyber Clean. It really works. I always have a pack on my desk and use it every day to keep my keyboard and mobile telephone clear of germs. Will recommend it to all my friends.

What is very disturbing in the video is these 'geniuses' obviously have no idea what ammonia smells like! Very scary! Maybe they need to take a class in Chemistry 101...

My friend bought this for me and it works really well - I dont understand the comments in the movie, I think the smell is quite nice???
Lots of my friends have bought it from firebox.com and they recommended it to me.

Canned air may be more expensive to use in the long run. And this is a good direction to go in. It may not be perfect now but with further development it should be fine.

Me thinks those who are endorsing this product might just be the same profiting off its sales? Instead of putting Gak into my keyboard, I'll just use my q-tips and alcohol. Besides, can you imagine the damage if little bits and pieces of that broke off and got under the keys. OH THE HUMANITY!

That's yellow? Looks green to me.
I used to have this argument with my niece who wore those flourescent socks in the 80s. might start an argument here. Everyone says it's yellow, but my eyes say "No, it's definately green".

I'm not sure the old "Blob" stuff is a close enough comparison. Maybe the more recent "Gak" stuff would fit the consistency. Most of these products slowly dissolve over time, but as long as it remains compact and doesn't fall apart when you use it, I don't see a problem. As for the smell, most people I know use cleaning wipes that often have an alcohol base. The up side to using this item would be the ability to put it away and use it again. I'd like to give it a try when it comes to the U.S.

I'm not sure but buying a "good" keyboard instead of the dumb mac keyboards leaves you with the option of taking your keyboard apart and throwing it in the dishwasher! w00t squeaky klean!!!

Yeah, using a Mac keyboard for the demo was a bad idea. Mac keyboards are next to impossible to clean, even with compressed air. I ended up taking mine apart - something I wouldn't recommend to the faint of heart.

On my PC, I have a $12 LabTec liquid resistant keyboard that I love. If it gets dirty, I flip it over and blow it out with air, then wipe down the keys with an alcohol pad. If it quits working, I take to the recycle center and get a new $12 keyboard...

I lick my keyboard clean with my ammonia tongue, just like your wife.

Enjoy your allergies. The more we sterilize our environments, the more our children's immune systems will react to harmless things like dust.

Seriously, get a spill-proof keyboard if your fingers are always filthy and you live in a pig sty.

I cant believe anyone would actually even consider buying this stuff.... it's obvoiusly the same exact stuff you can buy for .50 in a gumball machine.... Its Freakin Gooo!
Btw....World of Goo on the PC is an awesome game :)

yellow goop that leaves sticky residue and smells like horrible like clorox was dumped on it?!?! not my way of doing things... not a good product in my opinion.

btw never pay fifteen bucks for goop that you make out literally anything sticky with a little flour!!!!!!!!!!!! waste of money just buy something like an iPod for pete sake!

it is so weired

I'm not sure they had the Apple transparent keyboard in mind when they made this goo... the one with the white keys but the transparent sides, like pre-intel G5 era? Maybe?

I'm wondering if I would end up with a bunch of yellow goo visible from the sides of my keyboard. I could tell people the kids got to my keyboard. Except I don't have kids.

This is actually an illegal video. Its illegal to degrade a product

The new generation of tech is so obnoxious, squeemish, and over protective without knowing the basics.

Keyboard+shower=done

I miss the 80's so much.

I'd like to do this too but I'm not adult!
