Solar-powered Key Hole Light illuminates your door lock for easy night entry

solar_keylight.jpg

Why fumble around in the dark when you can use solar power to light the way? This Key Hole Light from Comfort House charges up during the day, and illuminates your door in the dark of night. A quick button push keeps it lit for 10 seconds, plenty of time for even the clumsiest oaf to unlock a door.

Attach it to your door with its adhesive pad or included screws, and it's good to light your way 720 times per charge. Even if your house is like Grand Central Station, that'll be enough power. It even includes interchangeable brass, white, and chrome covers to match your hardware. Not a bad deal for $12.95.

That's pretty neat. I already have something like this on my door: one of those slimline adhesive LED lights that are sold to be put on cell phones. I think it cost $1. Kind of like this pic but even skinnier: http://www.lssproducts.com/images/uploads/401035_Lumpod.jpg

An RFID chip within the key, used to activate the light would be nice. This way criminals would have a more difficult time breaking in...even though professional lock-pickers need no light once they have the main 2 pieces of their kit inserted.

That's the only suggestion I'd give...besides having the lock require a 2nd RFID chip to actually OPEN the lock.

That's all...btw, RFID only cost about $0.10 at max

My door faces north. I guess I'll need that $1 solution instead.

ah well if ya can pass all that we might at least light your way trough your lockpicking ...
If you're really that drunk every day that u cant even slid a simple key in "your" keyhole blindly, well then your wife / girlfriend wouldn't even want you inside the house anyway.
