New Xbox 360 motherboard sports 256MB of onboard memory

xboxmotherboard.jpgIt looks like there's some new innards coming to the Xbox 360 in the form of a new motherboard. Not that exciting, you may think, until you find out that the motherboard has 256MB of flash memory built into it. This is big news for people who buy the Arcade version of the Xbox 360, which doesn't come with a hard drive.

The new flash memory will be able to hold the entirety of the new NXE operating system, allowing people to not deal with external drives if they want to use the system. Of course, they'll still need extra storage if they want to download games or save their games, but this will make the cheapest version of Microsoft's console much more attractive as soon as it's implemented.

Nice, lots of possibilities!

If this board fixes the 3 rings of death problem, I might buy a X-box 360. Until then just say no to Microsoft.

Just spend the money for the Pro Version.
Arcade is a waste of money.

Well at least the 360 Arcade won't be AS useless anymore. Oh, it will still be useless, just not AS useless.

The last XBox 360 I purchased was a few months before they added HDMI outputs. The dam$ cables for HD cost more than the upgrade to the better version. Do I feel ripped off?

this is cool just keep this up microsolft and maybe you can bet sony for this hole gen and maybe get close to wii sales
note i used to be a nintendo fan now im microsolft

I wonder what they are going to call this version so users know how to find it or is it going to become the standard. Also if the operating system is on the board I wonder how much faster the load time is.

....wonder what they could do with 1gb of onboard memory...

where i can buy a mainbord for Xbox 360?
please somebody can tell me
