There's probably a one-way valve at the bottom of the glass. It might look a little like the valve you will find in some Heinz ketchup bottles, dispenser detergent bottles, shampoo bottles (a silicone patch with an "x" cut through it). A nozzle would protrude through the valve to fill the glass when it sits on the base of the machine. When it's lifted, the self-healing valve seals.

I think the soda is made invisible by a special light that is in the top of the machine. And it only becomes visible when it contacts the ice. Its only a theory right now but you will see. Its totally the way this thing works.

if Genius Mans idea is true (Which I think it is.) then your hand wouldn't wan't to be over the glass. How it fills so fast is what gets me... is it possible that it is vapor thats being shot from the thing?

yes has to be a special glass being used. the theory of the light and the soda only showing when it hits the ice cannot be possible due to the fact that the soda would be visible at the top of the pile of ice since that would be where contact is made first between ice and liquid. the video clearly shows the soda becomming visible at the bottom of the glass first. Besides the guy above already posted a link explaining it all before the comment about the light theory was made.

The whole trick is with the ice, the ice is a container with soda in it, what's happening is that the liquid is in the ice that looks opaque (white) so u just can't see it ... and a heating system melts the ice and make the liquid go out (the change of color of the soda, from brown to totally dark black explains the amount of white ice left in the container )

ever heard of a check valve? Prob one on the bottom of the glass. Ice cant fit through the valve so it has to fall. Brilliant though...less foam

Valve Shmalve the beer trick is easily explained. Clearly the glass is lined with some sort of special powder that is invisible to the naked eye and they shoot a stream of vapor so fast that it too is invisible to the naked eye. When the two combine the beer is the result. Magic!? I think not, just science.

The poke valve doesn't seem so good... it would just leak out the bottom if it broke or if some one pushed it. Oh, and Thrishmal's idea would be upsetting, but possible.

Seriously people? Are the lot of you so vacuous, so intellectually stunted. What is with all the grandiose, highly unlikely, and mostly impossible theories on how this thing works, its just a cup, with a one way valve in the bottom. Its not specially designed secret agent ninja ice cubes, its not a transporter, or a materializer, or special magic Harry Potter light that makes the soda invisible, and its not vaporized soda either. The thing you people need to keep in mind is K.I.S.S. Keep It Simple, Stupid.

P.S. to those of you who thought it was special light, or a transporter, don't you think that technology would show up elsewhere first, like in some sort of military or scientific application, or possibly in a number of scientific journals focused on ground breaking advancements in previously theoretical science?

I'm sure going to buy this if it doesn't use those dangerous X-rays to fill the glass. And there's no way a valve could be made that wouldn't leak. And there has to be special powder in the glass and/or ice, because that's safe to drink.
