Los Angeles quake reality game simulates the next Big One

Aftershock-reality-game-for-quake-readiness-2.jpg
The Institute for the Future and the Art Center College of Design in California has designed a reality game that simulates all of the going-ons during a massive earthquake short of shaking your house down. Called Aftershock, it's the largest earthquake readiness drill ever attempted, and its creators hope that it won't only raise awareness of what to do in the event of an earthquake, but also expose them to the proper course of action to take so that if or when it happens, they're ready.

The game is fashioned after a 300-page earthquake scenario report by the U.S. Geological Survey, and is set to run for three weeks.
