Kami Kami Sensor counts your bites while scaring away friends

bitecntr531.jpgThe next time the little kid in your life misbehaves you might want to show them a picture of Nitto Kagaku's Kami Kami sensor and watch them straighten right up. Looking like something out of the torture chambers of the Inquisition, the Kami Kami Sensor counts the number of bites a child takes sounding a beep after every 30 and 1,000 bites taken.

Making sure your kid chews his or her food properly is indeed important, but let's face it, if they need an electronic harness to remind them to chew thoroughly, you've probably got other child rearing problems to worry about. The Kami Kami Sensor is available now for 11,550 yen ($188.95) here.

You can't be serious! This gadget is more like a step backwards than a technological advancement. Poor kid!

Well... of course it'd be plain mean to put that on a child who didn't need it, but if there are some children who are somewhat incapacitated and have trouble with chewing, then I'm not going to hold it against them.

Are we sure that this isn't a dieting tool used to maintain young girls' weight?
