Handheld SNES brings back fond retro gaming memories

portable-snes.jpgI think that, despite the fancy graphics and online capabilities of the current generation of consoles, my favorite console ever is still the trusty old Super Nintendo. The SNES had an absolutely amazing lineup of games that are still some of my favorites, and it featured graphics that were perfectly sufficient for 2D gaming. Which is why I have a soft spot for homemade portable SNES consoles.

This particular model accepts old SNES cartridges, making it kind of bulky. But it retains elements from the original SNES controller, which is a nice touch. Personally, I don't have many cartridges left from my SNES days, so I'd prefer a smaller model that stored the games on a hard drive, but I guess beggars can't be choosers.

I actually just downloaded an SNES emulator two or three days ago... They really are/were great games.

Definitely too bulky, but how cool would it be if they developed DS cartridges that included all the old snes favorites?!

The SNES is my favorite console too, I still have a few games laying around. They should've made this more like the Sega Nomad that played Genesis cartridges and it wasn't THAT bulky.
