Fizz Saver keeps your soda from going flat

fizzsaver.jpgAs you probably know, once you open a bottle of soda, it's only a matter of time before it goes flat. And nobody likes flat soda. So what are you to do if you have a large bottle of soda and don't feel like giving yourself diabetes by drinking it too quickly? Just use the Fizz Saver.

The Fizz Saver is essentially a tap for soda. Simply screw it on the top of your bottle, flip it over, place it on a flat surface and you're good to go. Then you'll be able to pour yourself a glass of soda without releasing the carbonation, keeping it from going flat much longer than if you didn't have this magical contraption. The future is now!

Why is the Tropicana Lemonade in that Pic? Last time I checked it's not carbonated:P

By Hrunting at 5:31 PM ON 11/28/08

The same reason the Bud's in that pic, I suppose.

WHOA, I just has an AMAZING IDEA!
After you take a drink, put the CAP back ON!

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Actually Tropicana Lemonade does have carbonation in it. Not nearly as much as normal soda but still has some.

Price and availability?

I'd pay up to $20 for it, depending on build quality. I wonder how fouled up the nozzle will get after a few gallons of Mt. Dew chug through it.

Did the physics of liquids change, or do we not get to drink the bottom (top?) third of the bottle's contents with this device? It looks like a drain elbow with a faucet on it, which should keep the beverage from draining to only slightly below the faucet end. Unless you shake the carbonated beverage to create back pressure defeating the purpose of the device.

By LAFE at 9:08 AM ON 12/01/08

At Query: Since the bottle has a much larger circumference than the drain tube, wouldn't the weight of the liquid in the bottle force it through the drain tube until the liquid in the bottle and tube were balanced? I think that would put the final liquid level lower than 1/3 of the bottle.

If you look close, you'll see that the spicket is coming from the black base in a series of 90 degree bends. Therefore you will be able to dispense the entire bottle.

I got this as a gift from shopgetorganized.com.

First of all: The pictured item is not what I got.

The unit's base in the pictures is about a 1/2 inch thick. The base of my unit is flimsy plastic and will break after screwing on a few bottles. This thing is VERY cheaply built!

Also, the dispenser nozzle in the picture shows someone pushing down to release fluid. Mine requires using a cup to push inwards and this is very awkward since you need to hold on to the whole contraption; and having the flimsy base can make the whole thing come tumbling down.

Second of all,

This idea has promise but the real-world physics of this product simply cannot deliver what it suggests. After screwing on the product and putting all in the fridge, everything seemed fine. After waiting a few minutes for the pressure to build, I went to pour a drink and all you get are carbonation bubbles with very little drinkable liquid. What is left in the cup is completely flat and disgusting.

This concept, taken into practice, only serves as a very efficient way of separating the carbonation from the liquid.

This product simply does not work, DO NOT WASTE your money. I can't believe I wasted nearly $20 on this piece of garbage.

Fabian.

That is my idea except mine is much better. I came up with this one over 20 years ago but this Invention Submission Company took my money. NEVER EVER go through one of these companies; they will take your money and run! Do it yourself and never listen to anyone!
