Amazing belt buckle has 108 moveable parts, costs $10,600

dunhill-alligator-mechanical-buckle-belt.jpg

Here's an unusual accessory for the guy who has everything: an alligator belt with a mechanical buckle. Look closely at that buckle and you notice just a few of its 108 movable parts, a precision-built group of levers, plates and roller bearings all working on concert to help you adjust it in 35mm increments. That's the width of two thumbs, the exact amount tailors will add to a waist measurement for extra comfort.

Besides all that impressive mechanical engineering, the belt is made of only the finest materials, with 18-carat rose gold components and two superfluous diamonds inset into its stainless steel frame. All that finery must be the reason the thing will set you back $10,600.

Luxury accessory maker Alfred Dunhill offers this outlandish accoutrement in a limited edition of just 25 pieces, insuring that whoever invests in such an item will almost certainly be the only fop at the cotillion with a mechanical belt. Given today's economic circumstances, we're not thinking these will be selling out anytime soon.

108 moving parts is cool though. I wonder what it looks like while moving through a blender...
