Custom 3D monitors move your gaming into a post apocalyptic world

apomonitor2.jpg

iZ3D has been making 3D gaming monitors for a while, but now they want to enhance your gaming experience even more by replacing your boring dark gray monitor case, with something that looks like it came straight out of Gears Of War 2 or Fallout 3. The monitor itself uses a slide in polarizing filter along with a set of glasses to deliver a powerful 3D experience.

The custom painted 22 inch models include a range of gnarly themes like burning skulls, weathered metal, and hot-rod like flames, and run around $740 a pop. That sounds expensive, but when you consider that the boring gray version runs $600, $140 more for the paint job sounds pretty reasonable.

Now all you need is a suitably stunning looking PC to go along with it.

Who the heck pays $600 for a 22" LCD? You can get a pretty good monitor at that size for under $200.

The paintjob looks neat for sure, but it just seems terribly overpriced.
