I got an insider tip from "Sean" that Harmonix is looking for someone with elite keyboard skills. As you can see by scrolling to the bottom of this page, Harmonix is looking to hire someone handy with the organ. Here's the job listing:
JOB OPENING: EXECUTIVE ASSISTANT-HARMONIX/Boston: 2+yrs admin exp. Strng communic & interprsnl sk; Proficient MS Word/Excel/PPT. Detail-oriented; str organ sk; fast-paced env. EOE/M/F/D/AAP. Apply www.mtvncareers.com (10/7)
Emphasis mine, as they say. Why else would Harmonix want someone whose "sk" are "str" at the organ in a "fast-paced env." (expert note charts, anyone?) if they weren't planning on including a keyboard player to Rock Band 3?

It was an idea but harmonix rejected it because it's too complicated to accomplish and it's just not worth the effort.

Im pretty sure that means Strong Organizational Skills...

I agree, organ. is short for organizational, why would they hire someone with strong organ skills? They have plenty of keyboardists working at Harmonix.

Dream Theater, Stratovarius, Nightwish, Lacuna Coil, Bon Jovi, Within Temptation, Evanescense, etc.
Keyboards should've already been on rock band 2. I really dont see whats wrong with adding them, if you dont like them, you dont have to play them right? thats why you only play your own instrument in a real band.
Being the keyboard and guitar player that i am, i can assure you, a keyboard would be a lot more realistic than the guitars, seriously, do you actually feel like you're playing the guitar when you're just pressing those fret buttons? haha.
Anyway, yeah, keyboards have KEYS, which is what the keyboard controller will most likely come with, you'd be excercising your fingers which could help you play real keyboards later on. Just like the drums helps you get an idea of what real drumming is.
