


Designer Hans Thyge Raunkjaer likes vintage DeSoto cars, and decided to create a faucet that reminds him of the Chrysler classic. Can you see the resemblance in the comparison above? Well, it's slightly similar, and we can imagine that its joystick that turns the water on and off might be analogous to the DeSoto's gear shift stalk.
There's practicality built into this madness, though. As you can see in the gallery below, the faucet includes your choice of two soap dishes or a small vase for your favorite cut flowers, or maybe just to hold a toothbrush or two. We like the idea of industrial design mimicking cars, like that Audi R8-mocking speedboat we showed you yesterday. Next, a gas grill that looks like the explosive 1974 Ford Pinto.
