Black & Decker Auto Wrench clamps down with a quick button push

bd_autowrench.jpg

Now even the lowly adjustable wrench needs a battery. Black & Decker may be onto something here, though, creating an 8-inch Automatic Adjustable Wrench that quickly clamps down on any size nut or bolt up to 1.25-inches when you touch its button on top.

This might be a good idea to speed up your wrenching tasks in tight spaces. Just don't get your finger caught in its motorized maw, which can pinch with 220 ft-lbs of torque. Ouch! We still haven't decided if we're lazy enough (or in a big-enough hurry) to drop $27 on this baby.

I have one. It works GREAT! It really saves a lot of time and trouble, from switching back and forth from one wrench to another. The only trouble I've found is that it doesn't like the cold. The wrench slows down in the cold. Other than that...it's GREAT!!!

dont buy it, just stick with normal crescent wrenches.

I have it...its pretty lame. (got it as a gift).
it works, but that 220ft lb of torque your talking about must mean, how much torque you can put on it before it breaks...because it DOESN"T clamp down with that kind of force...its a pansy, seriously, you could put a baby's pinky in it and "clamp down"...and the baby wouldn't even cry.

Damn, that's lazy, but I like it.

I do believe that should read inch/lbs not foot/lbs otherwise it would have the torque rating of a standard small v-8 gasoline motor.
