Consider for a moment the humble switchplate. It's usually in a location close at hand, so why not enhance its utility with a convenience or two? Designer Justin Porcano did just that, adding a couple of hooks on which you can dangle your keys or umbrella, and a holder perfectly suited for several envelopes.

We're already big fans of paddle switches and have them installed everywhere, and appreciate Justin's desire to ever-so-slightly improve our quality of life. Several big-box stores are already interested in turning his idea into a real product, so it may not be too long before you can pick up a few of these convenient items. For the final design, we'd suggest hiding the screws and offering them in designer colors.
