Compare the new tall-boy iPod nano 4g (90.75 x 38.75 x 6.2mm) to its predecessor, the nearly-square nano 3g (69.8 x 52.3 x 6.5mm) of days gone by. And for those of you who aren't iPod/Apple fanatics, here are the two models compared with a tiny box of matches. We're thinking we're not going to miss the old iPod's shape.

I'm going to miss it... Even though I don't have an iPod, I would've considered a Nano because it looked like it just might have fit in my pocket. This new one looks like it would pop out. Ew.

You must have really small pockets if you think the new one will pop out.
Get one try one and then you will see why it has all the hype.

Yay, the nano is no longer butt ugly. and 16GB is more reasonable for something that is designed to store video. This is everything that the nano 3G should have been.
I hope there is a way to turn off shake to shuffle though. That looks like it could get a little bit annoying if you take you nano out while jogging.
Jen: I own a 2nd Generation Nano, which is almost the exact same size as the new one. It's so small that sometimes I may forget it's in my pocket, but it has never fallen out. At 3.5" tall by 1.5" wide this thing is smaller then my wallet, my key chain; It's even smaller then any cell phone I have ever owned, including the Motorola RAZR.

eh. i still think the 3rd gen is prettier than the 4th gen.

Males out there may not realize but many pockets that women have in their pants small... most are just large enough for my cell phone to fit in if it's on its side. The 3rd gen nano fit well in my pockets. With it's square shape the player fit well. I am with Jen in feeling that the 4th gen will have a tendancy to topple out of womens pockets.
