Professional Home Cinema speakers are guaranteed to piss off your neighbors

haleshorn2.jpg

While few audiophiles have even heard of Professional Home Cinema, this Huntington Beach, CA, company makes the kind of speakers you might find in Tom Cruise's home theater. Using the same type of horn technology you'll find in commercial theaters, the systems are actively driven using thousands of watts of digital amplifier power.

In the pic above, designer L Paul Hales stands next to a new model that could probably be used for building demolition. During a demonstration at the Denver Athletic Club during CEDIA, Hales used the much smaller SCR-15s to shake and rattle everything that wasn't tied down on the third floor of the club. Despite that smaller model's 130-decibel capability, the sound was amazingly clear and undistorted. Price? Think upper five figures for a 5.1-channel surround rig.

Wow, that's really huge.. I don't think that will fit into my tiny room. LOL

Yah, this is for the "home theaters" that are the size of a small movie theater. This isn't your living room type speaker. You can get the same quality for much smaller cabs and price for the home theater. This is just overkill.

1st Off these guys are marketing speakers at a price pint that is basicly known as a rip off. I can build profesional speakers at way lower prices and in fact I do. 2nd you can buy commercially made speakers such as EV or even DYNACORD that will blow away these guys at thousands less and will produce the same quality of sound. Why is it when "AUDIOPHILE" is assoaciated with speakers or electronics they have to tack on a 5 figure price tag? Is is that the "audiophile" is a mornon an expects to have to pay that kind of cash for quailty? well I sell audiophile all day long and in this case with us you will still have money to buy yourself dinner and a new DVD to watch through your new speakers...This company is selling a lot of hot air. Hell the speakers are just roughly finished pro boxes they arent even made of anything special....come on guys.

have a a look at their digital amps, that stuff is audiophile? Yea right....I bet my classic CREST 6001 class H will pu that digital amp to shame., I know it will. If you ever looed inside one you will know right away what your delaign with or in PHC's case what your not.
