Infrared Tracker Remote Control Car follows the little red dot
![]()
If you've seen a cat chasing a laser pointer dot all over the room, you're already familiar with the concept of this $50 Infrared Tracker Remote Control Car. Point its infrared dot wherever you want to car to go, and it will dutifully follow it anywhere. Well, almost — too bad it only works within five feet.
Even so, what a great idea! For the uninitiated, it's confusing to try to steer a toy car when it's first going away from you and then coming toward you, demanding that your brain change its perspective with the car's position. Besides its worthy infrared-following attribute, this little sucker's styling doesn't look half-bad, either. Increase that range, and we're in.
