Filmmakers rejoice! Now you can abandon those rolls of expensive film for digital video, recorded uncompressed on this odd-looking Ikonoskop A-cam dII camera. Using the array of lenses available for super-16 film cameras, this baby slams 1080p video onto the fastest flash memory cards in the world, sucking up 12 minutes' worth of the crispy footage at a blazing 240MB per second. That's fast.
Filmmakers will like its small form factor, 3.3-pound weight and relatively light $9854 price tag which includes a lens and 80GB flash memory card. While this little runt can't shoot the ultra-high def of the Red One camcorder that's taken the digital cinema world by storm, it's less than half the price, too. Able to pop out individual RAW frames at frame rates of 1- 60 frames per second, it's sure to quickly become the darling of indy filmmakers far and wide.
