So, what's the next step in video games? Graphics are already pretty incredible, and it won't be too much longer before we hit a point after which graphics can't get much better. Then what? What will we advance?
It will probably look something like the Cocoon at some point, focusing on making games more immersive by actually letting people get inside the games they play. The Cocoon is a concept right now, but designers are hoping to make it a reality. By surrounding you on all sides by screens and speakers, you'll feel completely immersed in whatever is being shown. Combine that with cutting-edge graphics, and you've got a video game system taken to the next level. The future looks pretty bright for gamers, I'd say.

this definitely is cool. btu it would also mean even less sunlight for the most addicted gamer.

You could put a couple UV lamps in there and it would correct that :)

Yah, but how much will something like this cost? Remember the old VR Pods? Those were crazy expensive and that was nothing like this. How would you get it through the front door and in the living room?

The real question about something like this is what it would do to the social aspect of the game. It would obviously remove physical human contact, but would it make up for that with a more realistic (compared to now) virtual experience with others?
It seems interesting, but it would bring a whole new set of problems.

I guess the future looks bright for gamers, until they don't have any more organs to sell to afford all the equipment!
