$1,800 power cord costs about $1,795 too much
Well, if you've got any sense in your head whatsoever you don't need little old me to tell you that there's absolutely nothing that could make a simple power cord worth $1,800. But let's face it: the Furutech Powerflux power cord clearly isn't aimed at people with sense in their head. It's aimed at people so rich that they've given up thinking, allowing their almost limitless supply of money to go to any snake oil salesman with a good enough pitch. And what a pitch!
Powerflux conductors are 68-strand α (Alpha) OCC twisted around μ–conductor strands with a special-grade PE insulation or dielectric. (Alpha conductors are fine OCC wire treated with Furutech’s Alpha Cryogenic and Demagnetizing process.) The dielectric is surrounded by an inner sheath of RoHS-compliant PVC incorporating carbon powder that enhances damping, and that in turn is covered by a full α (Alpha) conductor wire braid shield. Another flexible PVC outer sheath and a Nylon braid jacket finish the job.And it keeps going from there! Here's a tip: none of this crap means anything, and it's still just a power cord. Go donate some money to charity or something, you rich moron.

At first I was expecting this to be made by the evil cable company, Monster Cables. You figured people would learn from the stupidity of that company.

You got to be kidding $1800 for a power cable even aerospace spec wiring the stuff you use in airplanes and even spacecraft is not that much for six feet lol.
Also what about the other 300 miles of sub quality power line coming from the power station?
To anyone dumb enough to buy these cables I got some land in Florida I'll sell you cheap.

All that fancy talk refers to high voltage high frequence electricity, the "skin effect" the 120 volt 60 HZ. stuff from your outlet wouldn't care if it was rolled up tinfoil. Beware snakeoil salesmen!

I've talked to the guy at Furutech about their CD demagnetizer and basically, he thinks we're all idiots unless we buy into the Voodoo he assures us is "science".
Still, I think I'd rather see the government buy $700,000,000,000 worth of these than the same amount of junk debt.

Hmmm, I just opened up my power amp this morning to replace a blown fuse. I wonder if any uberexpensive power cable buying audiophile ever opened up his gear only to discover that the wire from the IEC connection to the transformer is mere $.10/foot run of the mill wire.
Yet, OTOH, I used to be sceptic about speaker wire as well but the benefits there are pretty obvious to me in my system. I'm not the type of person to discount a product without having sampled it, but NO WAY would I ever spend 1800 on a power cable, or $55k on Alan Shane Modena Speaker Cables for that matter ;-)
Interestingly, a well respected company that has been on top of hi-end audio for decades (McIntosh) have always denied the benefits of exotic cables, but AFAIK they are now using Cardas for internal speaker wiring.
