New iPod nano on the way?

new-nano.jpg

Normally we’re not rumormongers here at DVICE, but this time we have two pieces of supporting evidence of a new iPod nano in the works, so here goes. First we hear Digg’s social networking guru Kevin Rose saying he’s seen pictures of a newer, tall-n-skinny iPod nano that’ll be on its way next month.

Then, we notice a rendering of a similarly-shaped case surfacing around the same time, allegedly fitting the new nano. But casting doubt on this is the mini-USB port on the bottom of that green case, something you’d probably never see on an iPod. Hmm. Still, while we like the form factor of the current iPod nano, this rounded shape is more attractive, and we'd welcome a bigger screen that’s the same shape as the iPhone.

Maybe it’s true. It is high time for an iPod update. While this is all sketchy hearsay, after the jump take a look at a video of Rose for yourself, and see if you believe him or not:

This is an obvious troll. Posted to see the responses from the iHaters.

I took the bait.

Really - Why care? I don't know how I linked to this page from Google news. This is like TMZ or Entertainment Tonight for geeks. I'll buy it when I see it but please, spend more of your time on something that matters. Go outside, exercise.

Man, this is the height of unemployment. Have you guys ever heard of the word "meaningful news" and "bull****" . Go check your dictionaries and see if you have your names for one of those words.
I dont blame you guys. Its your job.
But, Google, I am disappointed that such juvenile and dumb stuff is featured in your page.

What the fcuk, such a stupid news, google news sucks

One of the best things about the online community is the ability to microcast information. DVICE thank you for providing up-to-the-minute information on all sorts of topics including the iPod. Not evey topic will interest all people...but isn't that the point? People can check out the TV broadcasters for broad-based topics.

Yes. It's totally TMZ or Entertainment Tonight for geeks. Take note of the distributed, independent framework, which leaves far less tolerance for vapid, non-news.

I mean, holy crap, I was about to buy a nano for one of my kids but now I'm going to wait.

New Ipod nano on the way? Of course.
Will it look like this? Maybe.
Does anyone give a flying f*ck? No.

Seriously guys, who gives a f**k. I am getting sick and tired of this whole Ipod thing. Apple is just using the name to sucker everybody into handing over their hard earned money to a greedy american corporation. Steve Job's is probably sitting around and laughing at how stupid all the Ipod fan boys are. Remember Microsoft 10 years ago. Any product they released was instant money maker. Today, they can't convince people to use Vista for free. If you dont think apple will turn to that one day, your in for a big surprise. You can cut this companies greed today by looking for alternative products that are cheaper and better but dont have the name or you can just wait 5 years. Point is eventually you will all clue in.

who's the schmoo?

The Nano has gone from being very cool to being very boring. Like all Apple products it lacks what it takes to be the best. Like all Apple products it is designed and marketed like it is the best. Nano stands for No Another NanO. Exactly.

Captain Kidd....The Schmoo was a fictional character that first surfaced in Lil' Abner comics and then later he given his own show by Hanna Barbara called The New Schmoo show. Basically he is a round smooth white animal with a sparse mustache. Go here for more.

TechSupportRep - just because they were money makers doesnt mean people liked them... microsoft was just smart and gave crappy stuff away free then released a subpar upgrade for cash once everyone was using it. dos, ie, microsoft money.. just to name a few.... not to mention blatantly copying apples gui with microsoft windows in 85.. i could go on

I like the green one,it's so cute.

I heard and read about price drops on some of the IMAC. Is there any truth to that, I would appreciate any feedback.
